Lineup for international short films to play in competition at Fajr Int'l Film Festival unravels.
A total of 12 international short films will be screened at Eastern Vista section of the 36th Fajr festival in Iran.
The films will represent countries, including China, Lebanon, Turkey, Japan and India.
'A Gentle Night' directed by China filmmaker Qiu Yang is one of the titles to compete at the festival.
The flick, which was the recipient of Palme d'Or at the 70th edition of Festival de Cannes, shows a mother who restlessly tries to find her missing daughter.
Among the other eleven movies, there are names such as 'All I Want ' by Venika Mitra and Bassam Sammy Chekhes's 'Blue Fly Road' as well as 'Jodilerks Dela Cruz, Employee of the Month' by Carlo Francisco Manatad.
The Eastern Vista section of the festival presents a panorama of films from Asia and Islamic countries.
Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.
Directed by Reza Mirkarimi, the 36th edition of the festival runs April 19-27, 2018 in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
